March 9, 2005
Saint Michael’s College
Once again the Spelling Bee for Literacy
surpassed its goal of raising $10,000 for the Vermont Humanities
Council’s literacy programs in Chittenden County.
More than forty, three-person teams from
schools, businesses, and non-profits throughout Chittenden
County competed. Spellers tested their skills for fun, prizes,
and most importantly, liter acy. Those who make it to the final
round spelled some very difficult words for final round judges
First Lady Dorothy Douglas and novelist Philip Baruth.
The chamption spellers were The Searchers from
Cornerstone Closing & Title Company. |
