Vermont Student to Attend National Spelling Bee

For the first time in recent history, Vermont will be sending a student to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. On Tuesday, March 15, Rochester Middle School student Jacob Hubbard won the Vermont state Spelling Bee Championship. The event was held at Northfield High School.

The bee was sponsored by the Vermont Department of Education, the Vermont Principal’s Association, the Vermont Humanities Council, and the Burlington Free Press.
