Literacy is the most essential skill and
the gateway to all learning. The earlier our children become
strong readers the
more likely they are to succeed in school and in all endeavors
throughout their lives. That is why I have made literacy one
of my priorities as First Lady, and I know this is a priority
for Jim as well.
It has been a pleasure working with the Vermont
Humanities Council and Verizon to promote and celebrate the
joy and power
of literacy. Our message is clear — reading helps build
better lives. By working together, we can ensure a state of
adults
and children who love to read.
So, please, Check
Into Literacy today.
