Building Bright Futures

Building Bright Futures is a public-private partnership to coordinate and oversee
Vermont’s early childhood care, health and education system. A governor-appointed
Building Bright Futures statewide Council oversees coordination of this initiative. Each
region of the state has a Building Bright Futures Regional Council. This Council is a
community hub of information and a place to address issues relating to young children

Verizon Reads

In 1999, Verizon established Verizon Reads to work for a more literate America through
programs that create awareness, raise funds, and encourage collaboration among literacy
program providers. Verizon Reads has chosen the Vermont Humanities Council as its
Vermont partner for this national program. Reading Vermont is a partner program of
Verizon Reads.

2-1-1 is an easy to remember telephone number that connects people with important community services and volunteer opportunities. Every hour of every day, someone needs essential services — from finding an after-school program to securing adequate care for a child or an aging parent. People often don't know where to turn. 2-1-1 helps people find information about and referrals to human services for every day needs and in times of crisis.
